Commissioning

Commissioning power and propulsion systems is a demanding and detailed process comprising a series of checks and procedures which ensure that all components are properly installed, fully functional, and ready for operation. It aims to confirm that the installed equipment are operating according to the system implementation design and all initial design goals are achieved and verified during the trial period. A rigorous commissioning is crucial to ensure absence of malfunctions or failures during regular operation.

The task is performed by strictly following a commissioning checklist consisting of a series of pre-checks, sub-tasks, measurements and post-checks, that are documented in the final Commissioning Report which is submitted to the system operator/owner and remains with the system as part of its operation profile and a crucial component of the provision of Warranty Coverage.

A meticulous commissioning is crucial for the performance, efficiency, and longevity of the installed systems and demands that visual, functional and operational status confirmation is derived for of all involved subsystems.

Typical product-dependent points and subsystems involved are:

Mounting points
Ventilation pathways and systems
Fuel system (tank, forced supply, fuel lines, filters, sensors)
Cooling system (heat exchanger, cooling alleys, fans, antifreeze liquids, sensors)
Lubrication system (tank, pressure, flow, sensors)
Exhaust system
Electrical system
Instrumentation and control systems
Switches and fuses, fitted accessories, etc.
